Description
A late 19th century cast iron empire bath manufactured by Rogeat (Lyon). Marked at one of the ends of the bathtub Rogeat model number C2. Its original vitreous enamel is in excellent condition and has been polished by the Vintage Bath Company. With interesting provenance, I salvaged this tub from Chateau de Grenade outside Bordeaux where it was installed from new in one of the main bathrooms. Chateau Grenade was completed in 1862 and its grounds house one of the largest rhododendron gardens in Europe.
